Ian A. Villanueva, M.D. is from Chicago, IL. After graduating from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School, Dr. Villanueva completed his general surgery residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He then completed additional fellowship training in Laparoscopic Bariatric and Advanced Gastrointestinal Surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. During his fellowship year, he was the operating surgeon in over 350 advanced laparoscopic procedures, 200 of which were laparoscopic bariatric surgeries. Dr. Villanueva is the Medical Director of the Wesley Surgical Weight Loss Program and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
